Soft Sculpture

Textile art and screen printing were my first loves. I got my first sewing machine at 8 and started screen printing at 9. Nearly thirty years later, I remain infatuated and soothed by these familiar mediums and continue to find new ways to use them in my practice to transform spaces and create collectible collections of work.

My recent series of Forever Balloons and Charm Chains use canvas as the foundation for sculptures that reimagine household items as faux inflatables. Somewhere on the precipice of illusion and delusion (can you believe I work into the wee hours of the morning making fake balloons for a living?) I hope to imbue some magic and levity upon the viewer.
