Cautious Optimism is an ode to the guilt, panic, and splendor of longer Seattle summers due to climate change; the immediate connection and swift depression that comes from joking about water wars with a stranger at a barbecue; and the political turmoil that has eroded our sensitivity to human rights violations and corruption.

Made from glass, a material that is both fragile and archival, these signs hold their contradictions without resolving them. They don't tell you to stop, or to keep going. They just catch the light, and ask you to notice what you're standing in.
